Dark & stormy (also written dark'n stormy or dark and stormy) means "dark and stormy" in English. The name of this cocktail is said to be a reference to the threatening skies of Bermuda, an archipelago famous for its Bermuda Triangle. According to legend, storms or supernatural phenomena are the cause of numerous shipwrecks in this area...

Ingredients

For 1 cocktail : Show liquids in centiliters (cl)

Cocktail directions

  • Cut the half lemon into quarters, then place the quarters in the glass.
  • Crush the lime wedges using a pestle.
  • Add to the glass: ice cubes, lime juice, cane sugar syrup, ginger beer and finish with the spiced rum, pouring it slowly to create this dark effect on the top of the glass.

Cocktail service

In a long drink or old fashion glass.
Serve with a spoon or blender.

Served in a Collins glass.

Bartender's tips

Use a Jamaican dark rum or a spiced Kraken type. Place half a slice of lime on the rim of the glass.
